Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Grants

Applications for shortlisted projects for the Sports and Recreation Infrastructure grants funding round will open on 16 January 2017.  The focus of the 2017 round is on the development and enhancement of sport and recreation facilities.

Liquor & Gaming NSW has invited shortlisted projects that support communities across NSW to engage in healthy lifestyles through increased participation in sport and recreational activities to apply. Projects with a particular focus on disadvantaged and regional and remote communities will be highly regarded.

What type of projects will be funded?
Funding is available for building, upgrading or the development of community sport and active recreation infrastructure facilities.  For example:

  • indoor and outdoor swimming pools
  • grandstands and other local sports ground facilities and indoor sports stadiums
  • community skate parks or BMX courses
  • velodromes and cycleways within a public recreation area
  • equestrian facilities
  • basketball, netball and tennis courts
  • hockey fields
  • children's play areas and parks
  • community gyms and sports clubs

Preference will be given to projects that are able to demonstrate they are ready to commence, with relevant planning and building approvals in place, and underway.

How much funding is available?
The funding range available for a single project is between $500,000 and $1 million.
