​Packaged liquor licence

    This licence allows alcohol to be sold to the public through a bottle shop, home delivery, mail order or the internet for consumption off your premises.

    You may also conduct tastings on your premises, with or without charge.

    Trading hours

    Standard liquor store trading hours are:

    • 5am to 11pm Monday to Saturday
    • 10am to 10pm Sunday.

    Extended trading hours on a Sunday morning are possible following a packaged liquor licence application, including a community impact statement​.

    How much does it cost?

    A packaged liquor licence costs $2000 and you must also pay an annual liquor licence fee.

    Community involvement

    Applications for a new packaged liquor licence requires a Community Impact Statement (CIS), conducted at least 30 days before lodging an application.

    Depending on how liquor will be sold you will need e​ither a Category A CIS or Category B CIS.

    All new liquor licences require a community consultation within 2 days of lodging a new licence application. For more information see Community involvement​​​.

    How long does it take?

    Applications are not considered until all documentation is submitted. 

    After you lodge a complete application, we will post it to our online liquor application noticeboard for 30 days to allow public comment in accordance with the gaming and liquor legislation.

    In most cases, an application will be determined by ILGA within four months of the 30 day public submission period end date.​
